ISA is the Institute for Financial Investments of the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Forestry (MIPAAF).
It promotes and supports agro-industrial development plans and acts to improve the financial condition of business enterprises engaged in the agricultural sector.

ISA is authorized to assist businesses in the agricultural, foresty and zootechnical sectors that are involved either in the transformation and commercialization phase of production.

ISA focuses on assisting economically sound and profitable investment companies and cooperatives.

ISA operates through two core business lines:

State aid (equity participation and loans) and Financial participation at market conditions.

State aid (equity participation and loans):

ISA pursues State aid through taking a minority stake in the share capital of a firm in need of assistance and through financing that is made available with interest rates lower than those available on the commercial market.

Financial participation at market conditions:

Following market principles, ISA can also acquire a minority stake in an enterprise or provide financial assistance to help firms develop or consolidate their operations.
